"how do i as a co-worker at IKEA contribute to supporting my local community?

you may think that in an average working day you wouldn't get much opportunity. however, supporting the 390 project gives me pride in myself and in IKEA.

I feel we are giving something back to the community by providing the opportunity for young disadvantaged people to gain work experience, self esteem & social skills to prepare them for adulthood.

Importantly, project 390 also supports the business by contributing to the bottom line profit & so is an all around winner for the young people, our co-workers - and IKEA!"

"Since Feb 2009, IKEA Wales made a conscious decision to look at doing things a different way in relation to car park management services.

The Vine Trust offered the store a different option that has allowed us to play a greater role within our local community as well as an opportunity to benefit from a more cost conscious solution required by the store.

Through the hard work of all involved the project has seen great results in its first 6 months and I am personally very proud of the work achieved... Much still remains to be done and further benefits and opportunities are being considered for the future."
